Environmental Impacts and Compliance Management
Mitchell Bland – RW Corkery & Co Pty Limited

Managing environmental issues is one of those responsibilities that every Quarry Manager is tasked with.  However, with few Managers have formal qualifications in the environmental field and with every site having a unique set of challenges and issues, minimising environmental impacts and ensuring compliance with the many approvals and licences required can be a challenge.  Failure to do so can be catastrophic on an operation.

Mitchell, an Environmental Consultant with RW Corkery & Co, will facilitate a round table discussion with participants. The discussion will be guided by the interests and needs of those present, however, it will broadly cover the following.

  • Approvals and licences typically required for a Quarry in NSW.
  • Guidelines and standards to be aware of.
  • Common environmental issues
  • Compliance management and reporting
Attendees are encouraged to provide the key areas of interest when registering and to bring examples of good (and less than ideal) environmental practices to the meeting.

12:30pm – 1:00pm Lunch & Networking

1:00pm – 2:00pm Site Inspection

2:00pm Event concludes
