Victorian Tunnelling Centre
The IQA Victorian Branch in conjunction with Victorian Tunnelling Centre at Holmesglen Institute, welcome you to explore the Australian-first tunnelling training centre to train and skill workers to deliver underground construction including the Metro Tunnel, all as part of the Victorian Government's rail projects.

The facility includes a replica mined tunnel and replica rail/Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) similar to the Metro Tunnel.  The replica tunnel includes a full-height entrance, two multi-purpose engineering and technical workshops and training facilities including tunnel shaft and concrete lining spray simulators, as well as virtual reality experiences.  A cutterhead, a refuge chamber and the only four-motion bridge and gantry crane located in a TAFE.

The VTC is modelled on the successfull Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy established as part of London's Crossrail and the Tunnel Training Academy in Kuala Lumpur.  For further information, please visit the Holmesglen Tunnelling centre website.
