Special comedian entertainer | Tim Axton

We are pleased to welcome comedian and local legend, Tim 'Such is Life' Axton

Tim has been performing since 2015 and is a stalwart of the Townsville and Cairns comedy scenes.

After years of honing his craft in the local scene, Tim performed his first debut show "town drunk" at the 2019 northern fringe festival and performed around North Queensland, as far as the helium comedy club, Indianapolis. He has performed with the likes of Bob franklin, tripod and Steve Hughes just to name a few.

Tim will have you in stitches in no time. His no retreat, no surrender approach to bogan intellectualism will leave you pondering the very meaning of your existence. Panel Presentation
When you think about the changes to the industry over the past 30 plus years, you may think not much has changed, but the reality is a lot different.  Think about safety, machinery, technology and production.  What was quarrying like back then? What were the challenges compared to now? and How can we acknowledge and apply these learnings within the industry today?

In this Q&A panel session, you will have the opportunity to hear stories and personal experiences about quarrying in the 70s and 80s from four highly regarded industry professionals with a combined industry experience of over 130 years.  This session will be educating and entertaining, and will provide an opportunity to ask questions from this highly experienced group of stalwarts.  The panel includes:

  • Gavin Markwell, FIQ | Director, Markwell Group
  • John Fahey, FIQ | Consultant, BQC Quarries
  • Greg Rains, MIQ | Managing Director, Nordev Contractors
  • Bob Ware, FIQ | Quarry Manager, Hy-Tec Industries
