Tas Branch Workshop & Dinner Meeting
The IQA Tasmanian Branch is will be holding an Industry Update Workshop & Dinner Meeting in Launceston.  The afternoon will also include a committee meeting.

Date:     Wednesday 10 November 2021

Time:     3:00pm for 3:30pm Start | Concludes 5.15pm
Venue:   Quality Hotel Colonial | 31 Elizabeth Street | Launceston | TAS  


This event will begin with a Workshop, include a TAS Committee Meeting, which will be followed by dinner to be held at the same venue.  Attendees are welcome to stay for the meeting and dinner.

Afternoon Outline

3pm (for 3.30pm start)  Workshop including afternoon Tea
5pm   IQA TAS Branch Committtee Meeting
6pm   Social Dinner at Three Steps on George Restaurant


Andrew Tunstall- Chief Inspector of Mines and Major Hazards (WorkSafe Tasmania, Department of Justice)
Andrew will provide an update on the Quarry Improvement Project and current issues in the industry and improvements needed for workplace safety. He will provide an overview of RCS, common problems and requirements.

Pam AtkinsonOccupational Hygienist
Pam will provide further detail on RCS and information to support industry improvements.

Kylie Fahey - CEO IQA
Kylie will provide an overview of new training opportunities and general update on the IQA


*Dinner and drinks will be held at the same venue at Three Steps on George Restaurant with pre-dinner drinks starting at 5:45pm.
Note: dinner & drinks will be at individual's own expense.

Three Steps on George was originally the Launceston Church Grammar School Gymnasium.  The building has been tastefully redecorated with hand stenciling and sponged finishes.  Join the dinner and enjoy the ambient environment and intimate restaurant set in the historical building.

Please note these rates are single occupancy, per night.  Rates for double of twin are available upon booking.

Where circumstances force the IQA to cancel an event or workshop, the liability of the IQA shall be limited to a refund of any fees paid for that particular event or workshop”. 

If you have booked an event as a delegate or a sponsor that is being postponed due to COVID-19, your sponsorship / registration will automatically be transferred to the future event. The IQA will be taking the prescribed steps and following the respective State and Territory guidelines in relation to COVID-19 restrictions, to ensure that the planned event is conducted is an appropriate manner. Attendees will be required to adhere to the COVID-19 practices as recommended by each State and Territory during the IQA event and no attendees should consider participating in an event if they are suffering from any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
