NSW Northern Region | Plant & Equipment Workshop

The Plant & Equipment Workshop will provide an understanding of the safety issues associated with supervising the operation of plant and equipment in quarries.

Date: 16th February 2023
Time: 8.00am - 5:00pm AEDT
Venue: Holcim Quarry | North Boambee Rd, Boambee NSW

Incident: Worker suffers severe hand injuries while cleaning a mobile screen.  The worker was on site for a few weeks and did not have experience of the task he was undertaking.

Comment:  Operators need to review the adequacy of their guarding and isolation arrangements to protect workers from risk of entanglement with operating plant.

As the NSW Regulator has a current focus on plant and equipment, with emphasis on mobile plant, the IQA is pleased to be delivering this workshop for our Northern Region members and associates.  The workshop will include a site tour of the Holcim Boambee Quarry.
