- To understand the basic legislative and compliance requirements for the management and operation of plant and equipment in quarries
- To understand the roles and responsibilities of duty holders under legislation
- To understand the risk management process and identify, assess and control risks
- To understand the plant life cycle, and the need to assess risk at each stage
- To understand the importance of ongoing monitoring of risks and controls, and identify mechanisms for carrying out monitoring

Chris has worked as a manager in the construction materials and mining industry for over 10 years. In this time, he has held senior statutory management positions at large hard rock quarries and a mineral sand mine. Chris is passionate about safety in the workplace ensuring systems and processes are in place support to the workforce to achieve this.
